Notice to Contributors

1. This Journal is published at least once in a year.

2. Manuscript should be written either in English or in Chinese. If the manuscript is written in Chinese an extended English abstract (1-2 pages in length) is required, in addition all the captions for tables and figures must be written both in Chinese and in English.

3. Papers (articles and notes) should be typewritten double spaced and paged properly. Three complete copies and electronic file of the abstract should be sent to the Editorial Office (Western Pacific Earth Sciences, P.O. Box 23-136, Taipei 10699, Taiwan, R.O.C., E-mail address: gst@gst.org.tw).

4. S.I. units are preferred.

5. Tables should be typed on separate sheets and their positions in the text should be indicated. They will be printed by a photo offset process to save proofreading efforts.

6. Diagrams should either be in the form of glossy black and white photographic prints or be drawn in black on white papers. Color diagrams can be accepted if the author(s) would pay the publication cost.

7. Reference in the text should be given by quoting the author's name and year of publication, such as: Liou (1981). Full reference should be listed at the end of the paper in alphabetical order following the format below:

Kennett, J.P., Keller, G. and Srinivasan, M.S. (1985) Miocene planktonic foraminiferal biogeography and paleoceanographic development of the Indo-Pacific region: Geological Society of America Memoirs, vol. 163, p. 197-236.

8. Manuscript should be organized in the following order:
(1) Title page: title, author(s), author's address
(2) Abstract
(3) Text
(4) Acknowledgments
(5) References
(6) Tables
(7) Figure captions and Figures
(8) Author's telephone number (Fax, electronic mail box etc.)

9. Thirty reprints of each paper will be provided free of charge. Additional reprints will be available at the author¡¦s own cost (thirty copies for each order).

10. In the covering letter the author may list three possible reviewers including their full addresses (plus telephone, fax, electronic mail box etc., if available).

11. To facilitate the desktop publishing of this journal, the author is urged to provide the final version in an electronic file. (Detailed information about its preparation will be provided upon the acceptance of the manuscript).
